Meet your Trainer, Bob
Welcome, I’m glad you’re here.
My name is Bob Perna-Amari. I’m a human biomechanics specialist (Functional Patterns™ certified), manual therapist, and Organic Intelligence™ Certified Coach.
As a lifelong athlete—and a passionate lacrosse player and coach—I’ve always had a deep respect for the body and how it moves. That curiosity led me to study exercise science and spend the early part of my career working as both a manual therapist and coach.
Over time, a few core questions started to drive my work:
How do we help people get out of pain?
How do we help people move and perform better?
And how are those two connected?
In the past several years, my focus has been on biomechanics—helping clients improve posture, reduce pain, and move in a more efficient and sustainable way. What became clear is that how we move has a significant impact on how we feel and function day to day.
But I also saw a pattern: people would make progress physically, then lose momentum. That led to another question:
How do you help change actually last and what drives that?
That question is what brought me to Organic Intelligence.
Today, I work one-on-one with clients using either Functional Patterns™ or Organic Intelligence™, depending on what’s most appropriate for them. These are distinct approaches with different aims: one focused on physical structure and movement, the other on how the body responds to stress.
Outside of coaching, I’m still deeply involved in lacrosse as a player, coach, and fan of Syracuse men’s and women’s lacrosse. I also love traveling with my wife Danielle, finding great coffee along the way, and starting most mornings with a latte at home alongside our three pugs.
